Vice President's Office Returning to Mitchell Building - August 26th
Office renovation completed, we'll be returning to Mitchell building from our stay in the Rossborough. Phones for the entire office will be routed to voice mail or the main 301-314-8428 line on Tuesday during the move.

Welcome Back Students
Welcome back!
As the trees begin to change and the mornings are a little
cooler, we are gearing up for the start of school here on campus. In just a few days, the campus will be
overflowing with the energy and enthusiasm of 30,000 students. With 15 departments in Student Affairs, we are
excited for our students to come back to College Park.
While classes don’t begin until Tuesday, September 2nd, 2008, new students will begin arriving on campus on
Thursday, August 28th. All of our Student Affairs departments are gearing up for their arrival. The campus will
begin to come alive with the excitement of fall next week.
The official start of the school year begins with New Student Welcome, Friday, August 29th at 5:00 pm in Cole
Field House. (ADD LINK). Join President Mote in welcoming almost 4,000 new students to College Park.
The excitement continues with the first home football game of the fall on Saturday, August 30th when the Terps take on the University of Delaware. (ADD LINK).

Year End Celebration Results (thanks to Andrea Thompson)
1st place: DOTS II, with their boat “Maelstrom” finished in 55:03,
2nd place: Residential Facilities I, with their boat “El Gato Negro” finished in 1:14.55,
3rd place: Dining Services Maintenance I, with their boat “Time Bandit” finished in 1:16:40.
Best Dressed: OVPSA/Student Conduct with their Motley Crew theme,
Best Environmental Design: Dining Services Maintenance II with their boat “Nuts N’ Boats ‘08” (they have used this same boat since the Regatta began in 2003), and
Titanic: Campus Recreation Services with their boat “Rec N’ Crew”.

1st place: With 170 each, Fraternity & Sorority Life tied with Stamp Student Union & Campus Programs. Spirit & Sportsmanship award: DOTS
Thank you to Dining Services, Health Center, Transportation Services, TerpZone, Hoff, Bookstore, CRS and Resident Life for contributing prizes for the Regatta, Heptathlon and Bingo.
