Discover our investigation into the University of Maryland's ties to regional slavery. As a local chapter of Universities Studying Slavery (USS), we address historical and contemporary issues of race and inequality in higher education. The presentation will unveil 2023's historical findings by project members, Summer Research Initiative participants, undergraduate interns, and community historians. This event is open to the public, both in-person at McKeldin Library on UMD's College Park campus and via Zoom .
